You’re diving into an OWL Reset— a fantastic choice! Your mind, body and gut are about to be harmonized and receive the love they deserve. The Reset is chock full of ingredients that are vitamin and nutrient rich, and functional herbs that do just that, help your digestive tract function.
Herbs work well with each other, so if you want to level up your reset and keep digestion smooth, balanced, and bloat-free, we can lean on herbal teas.
Adding an herbal tea to your Reset experience is a wonderful way to provide additional nutrients, and nourishment, to your days pre, post and during the Reset.
Herbs have been used for generations upon generations, around the world, to support digestion. Pairing the proper herbs with your OWL Reset can help ease bloating, stimulate digestive fire, and keep everything flowwwwing - healthy digestion, healthy mind.
Here are some of my favorite herbal allies to sip alongside the OWL Reset.

Ginger
Ginger is that friend who always gets things moving. It’s a fiery root, used in Ayurveda to stoke the digestive fire before eating and help ease gas and bloating after eating. It’s a potent digestive stimulant, warming up the gut, increasing circulation, and helping your stomach break down food like a pro. It’s also packed with anti-inflammatory compounds to calm any gut irritation.
How to work with ginger: Fresh ginger tea is the best—just slice up a thumb-sized piece and steep in hot water for 10+ minutes. Bonus points if you add a squeeze of lemon to brighten things up, and feel free to add a tsp of honey as well (local is ideal!).
Conditions best for: Cold digestion, sluggish metabolism, post-meal bloat.

Chamomile
Chamomile is such a lovely herb, and contrary to popular belief - chamomile isn’t only for getting a good nights rest (although it is quite helpful in that regard!) —it’s also a wonderful ally for digestion. This gentle yet mighty flower relaxes the gut, reducing inflammation and easing tension in the digestive tract (helpful for stress-induced bloating - which many of us have in today’s world). Chamomile is also a carminative, meaning it helps with gas, making it the perfect after-dinner companion.
How to work with chamomile: Steep dried chamomile flowers for at least 5 minutes and sip slowly. For an extra soothing blend, mix it with fennel and peppermint. Also lovely with honey.
Conditions best for: Sensitive digestion, gut inflammation, stress-related digestive issues.

Fennel
If you’re feeling puffy, inflamed, overstuffed and digestion is just OFF -, fennel is your herb. It’s a natural carminative, (similar to chamomile) meaning it helps reduce gas and bloating while encouraging a happy, balanced belly. It also has a mild licorice flavor that pairs deliciously with other digestive herbs.
How to work with fennel: Lightly crush fennel seeds before steeping to release their oils. Let them infuse for 10+ minutes for best results. Can make a Cumin-Coriander-Fennel tea, which is an Ayurvedic favorite (CCF tea).
Best for: Bloating, sluggish digestion, post-meal discomfort.

Peppermint
A classic! Peppermint tea is cooling, soothing, and relaxing to the gut. It helps reduce bloating, cramping, and indigestion while also keeping things moving. If your digestive fire runs hot (think acid reflux or inflammation), peppermint is your cooling antidote.
How to work with peppermint: Steep fresh or dried peppermint leaves for a crisp, refreshing tea. Perfect for the hotter days coming our way. Try pairing with chamomile or fennel for a next-level gut blend.
Conditions best for: Acid reflux, bloating, post-meal refreshment.

Dandelion Root
Dandelion root is a liver-loving, gut-cleansing ally. Dandelion pops up in the spring time - aiding our bodies in their own “spring cleaning” process. Dandelion stimulates bile production, helping your body break down fats and absorb nutrients while gently detoxifying your system. Dandelion also has a rich, earthy flavor which makes it a great coffee alternative.
How to work with dandelion: Simmer dried dandelion root for 10-15 minutes for a deep, roasted flavor. Add a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg for warmth.
Conditions best for: Liver support, sluggish digestion, gentle detox.

The beautiful thing about herbs is their synergy. All of these herbs are well-suited to be mixed and matched to suit your digestion’s mood. Feeling bloated? Try fennel + peppermint. Need to fire up digestion? Go for ginger + dandelion root. Feeling sensitive? Chamomile + fennel is the way to go!
The OWL Venice Reset is helpful for nourishing your gut, and these herbal teas are the perfect complement to make the most of the Reset! Sip with intention, support your digestion, and let your gut, and simultaneously, your mind and body, thrive! Cheers to feeling amazing from the inside out.
