Foods to avoid while on the Paleo diet include grains, legumes, dairy products, refined sugar, salt, potatoes, and highly processed foods.
Intermittent fasting is a diet protocol that focuses less on the kinds of food you eat and more on when you eat. Because of this, it’s considered to be more of an eating pattern than an actual diet. There are many ways to practice intermittent fasting but some of the most common methods include the 16/8 method, Eat-Stop-Eat, and the 5:2 diet. The 16/8 method involved 16 hours of fasting and an 8 hour daily eating period. Eat-Stop-Eat is a method that includes 24 hours of fasting once or twice a week. The 5:2 diet requires you consume 500-600 calories two days a week while eating normally the other five days.
How Does the Bone Broth Diet Work?

Five days a week, you consume foods that are high in healthy fats, lean meat, fish, eggs, non starchy vegetables, and — you guessed it — bone broth. Two nonconsecutive days a week, you do mini-fasts in which you cut out all foods aside from bone broth. On both eating days and mini-fasting days, all meals and snacks should be consumed by 7pm.
Additional guidelines for the bone broth diet:
-21 Days in Total
-5 Eating Days/Week
Guidelines: High protein, high veggie, and moderate healthy fat meals. One cup of bone broth twice a day as a snack. No meals or snacks after 7pm.
-2 Mini-Fast Days/Week
Option 1: Six 1-cup portions of bone both throughout the day.
Option 2: Five 1-cup portions of bone broth and protein, healthy fat, and non starchy veggies as your last snack. No meals or snacks after 7pm.
What do you do when the 21-day bone broth diet is over?
Give yourself a pat on the back! Even though the bone broth diet is intended to be satiating and sustainable, it’s no easy task to change your eating habits and patterns.
Now that the 21 days are over, you’ll transition into the 80/20 maintenance stage of the bone broth diet. Now you can proceed by eating approved foods 80% of the time and ‘unapproved’ foods like dairy and alcohol 20% of the time.
While mini-fast days are no longer required, you can choose to continue integrating them into your eating schedule if you’d like.
