Our Go-To Ramen Recipe

In the midst of everything that’s happening in our country due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it’s hard to know the best ways to behave and take care of ourselves. Here’s one thing we know for sure: We absolutely must focus on nourishment right now. 

But don’t forget that nourishment extends far beyond just the foods we choose to eat! We can also nourish ourselves with the media we choose to consume, the ways we choose to practice movement, the hobbies we choose to fill our spare time, and even the people we choose to interact with.


For many, this period of isolation may feel long and lonely, but how we decide to spend our time has the power to completely shape our experience in the coming weeks.

If you’re searching for ways to thrive in the midst of this present challenge, we encourage you to ask yourselves the following questions on a regular basis…

Is there anything I’ve been putting off that I can do today?
In what ways can I honor myself in this moment?
Am I being influenced by what I’ve been told I ‘should’ do? 
How can I be more true to my own needs?
What is one thing I am grateful for?
What interests am I being invited to explore further?

As for us, we find healing in cooking. Not only because healthy foods nourish our bodies, but because we intentionally pour love into every meal we prepare, which nourishes our spirits.

This is why we feel inspired today to share a new ramen recipe OWL’s owner, Lindsey, whipped up recently.

Should you choose to make this at home, we encourage you to make this recipe your own! Use what veggies you have available. Add proteins like fish, egg, chicken, or tofu if you’d like. We know securing specific ingredients can be a bit tricky at the moment, so don’t be afraid to put on your chef hat and customize as needed.



Customizable Ramen Recipe from the OWL Kitchen


  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped fennel
  • ½ cup sliced leeks
  • ½ cup shredded carrot
  • ½ cup lion’s mane mushroom
  • ½ cup chopped sorrel 
  • 16oz (½ a jar) of any OWL Broth Elixir
  • 1 package Lotus Foods Black Rice Ramen Noodles
  • ½ tbsp coconut aminos


  • Heat olive oil in a medium sized pot.
  • Add fennel, leeks, carrot, and mushroom. Sauté to soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Add broth and bring to boil. 
  • While the broth heats, prepare the ramen noodles according to package directions.
  • Reduce broth to a simmer.
  • Add ramen noodles and coconut aminos.

Serve in your brand new ceramic soup bowl!
