What's your role with OWL and what inspires you about the company?

I am a Holistic Health Coach for OWL Venice and I am most inspired by the passion and commitment to healing within our local and national communities. I love that our reach extends to people all over and that we are collectively healing together.

Have you always been into health and wellness, or was there something specific that triggered it?

I have always been into health and wellness personally, but when my grandma suffered a stroke two years ago, and in having intimate exposure to the Western healthcare system  - I really felt the calling to support and help people looking to create healthy lives. We can prevent so much of what shortens our longevity.

What inspired you to study health coaching? 

I was working for a Holistic Pharmacist and Apothecary during the time my grandma fell ill, and I found myself deep diving in research, looking for alternative ways to help her with food and natural supplementation. I was also listening to Sahara Rose's podcast frequently, and she often spoke about her education with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. It all fell into place about six months later, when I enrolled in their Holistic Health Coaching program.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a health coach?

The most rewarding aspect of Health Coaching is seeing the positive changes people make for themselves. Being heard and feeling supported are not surprisingly less commonplace in traditional Western therapies, and I am glad to provide space for my clients to thrive in myriad ways.

What kind of self care rituals do you have (morning or evening)?

Every morning, after I wake up - I first clean my tongue with a copper tongue scraper, shower, and then chant Sri Bajrang Baan, which is a devotional prayer to Hanuman, that banishes negativity and fear. In the evenings, I take my supplements, get some essential oils going in my diffuser, and write in my gratitude journal over a cup of herbal tea. My self care rituals are essential to feeling grounded - I create space for myself first and last thing everyday, which enables me to hold ample space for others.

Have you done the OWL Reset and if so, what was your experience like?

I have done the OWL Reset a few times now, and every time I find myself feeling so good, radiating health from inside out. I find that it doesn't leave me feeling like I am missing out on anything, because it is so nourishing and satisfying.

Any advice you’d give to someone trying the Reset for the first time?

I always recommend that people go easy on themselves during the Reset. We live in a culture where it is convenient to give ourselves a hard time... but making positive changes for our mind and body is the most wonderful gift we can give ourselves.

What mantra do you live by?

I live by the Golden Rule... and I practice this in all facets of my life. Treating others the way we want to be treated is a perfect harmony between ethos, logos, and pathos. Regardless of age, race, gender, religion, or anything that could create social division - I firmly believe that love is what we all want and need, so much that it is the cornerstone of who I am and how I entered into this healing space.

Are there any books, podcasts, shows, meditations, or products that you’re loving right now?

I am currently reading The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, which discusses how our physical bodies hold and store trauma. I am extremely into soundbaths from two healers here in the local Los Angeles community - Avi Sherbill and Dorothea Barth both hold so much space for healing through sound, and they are amazing people! Lately, I have been making adaptogenic waffles with Sun Potion and Anima Mundi powdered supplements - Pearl Powder, Mucuna Pruriens, Tocos, Anandamide... I could go on! I have a bit of a love (obsession?) with personal care products, and Osea speaks this love language fluently! I love their whole line of face and body care.
